The 4 Day "Die Hel" Tour
Bike Tours, The 4 Day 'Die Hel' Tour Gamkaskloof, or 'Die Hel', as it is also known, is a small section of the Swartberg Nature Reserve, a mountain catchment area of approximately 129 000 hectares. Die Hel can only be approached from Prince Albert or Oudtshoorn via the Swartberg Pass and was until the 1900s home to a small white community almost completely cut off from the rest of the world. How and why they moved there seems to be purely speculative. This amazing trip brings you from Cape Town along the Route 62 to Oudtshoorn, from here we will journey to Gamkaskloof and back over the Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert. The next day is spent traveling some little known dirt paths to Montague before we return to Cape Town. We recommend doing this ride on the smaller BMW F650/800 GS bikes.
